"Сноб". Андрей Бартенев собрал для биеннале шведскую стенку
http://www.snob.ru/selected/entry/7316 Скульптура «Шведская стенка», представленная в Музее современного искусства на Петровке, возможно, станет последним московским проектом Бартенева. «Скульптура-рукоход», как называет ее автор, — это ряды металлических прутьев, протянутых под потолком между двумя стенами комнаты. Прутья образуют слово LOVE К инсталляции прилагается текст и видео. Бартенев задумывал скульптуру, отталкиваясь от предложенного пространства: «Когда Вася Церетели попросил сделать какой-нибудь проект для Третьей Московской биеннале и показал мне зал, который был свободен, я сразу же подумал, что хочу делать шведскую стенку. Все решилось очень быстро. Уже на следующий день я дал ответ». Сначала Бартенев сделал модель из пластилина и коктейльных трубочек. На основе эскизов и фотографий пластилиновой скульптуры была создана 3D-модель, с которой дальше работали, продумывали расположение букв L, O, V, E в помещении. Текст к скульптуре Бартенев взял из инструкции по эксплуатации шведской стенки: «Шведская стенка, гимнастический снаряд в виде перекладины, укрепленный вплотную к стенам, — самый распространенный домашний тренажер...» Работа осложнялась тем, что Бартенев постоянно был в разъездах, приезжал за все время подготовки скульпуры всего на несколько дней. Поэтому проект ему приходилось вести и корректировать по электронной почте и по телефону, комментируя фотографии с производства и монтажа объекта. Прежде чем скульптура приобрела нынешний вид, была смонтирована модель специально под съемки видео. Бартенев участвует в биеннале в третий раз и, возможно, в последний. «Я не понимаю, в чем рациональность моего участия в московских выставках вообще и в биеннале в частности». | Angel Orensanz Center for the Arts, New York and Dr. Mikhail Michael Shvydkoy, Head of the Special Committee for International Cultural Cooperation of the President of the Russian Federation are proud to present an exhibition of acclaimed Russian contemporary photo-artist Yuri Barykin. |
“Art of Gesture: Sergei Diaghilev’s Avant-garde Ballet Russe and Reflections of Angel Orensanz" is a collection of 41 large format (19,5X29,5) photographs by Yuri Barykin that capture the vibrancy and depth of energy of the ballets of Sergei Diaghilev at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, the Kirov Theater of St. Petersburg and at the Nancy Theater Festival in France in the movement of Maya Plisetskaya, Vladimir Vasiliev, Diana Vishneva and Nina Ananiashvili as well as the performances of sculptor Angel Orensanz himself with the depth and strength of his sculpture. These images of the Spanish American sculptor reflect the energy Angel Orensanz infuses his exhibitions and show him in action during his art installations in recent shows at the Museum of Modern Art and the Space Museum of in Moscow.
This exhibition will travel, after its presentation at the Angel Orensanz Art Gallery this week in New York to the art galleries of the Russian Embassies of Washington and Paris.
The show is free and open to the public from 11 AM to 8 PM every day from August 28 through September 2. A video documentary will be shown later in September in New York by Time Warner Television, in the program “Arts from the Orensanz” that airs on Tuesdays at 7 PM on channel 67.

and The City of Vanishing Spaces (Russia, 2002). |
Pavel's work appeared in The Anthology of Short Stories (ACT, Moscow, 2000). His short stories have been translated into English, German, and Finnish and have appeared in literary magazines in Moscow, New York, Munich, Jerusalem and Helsinki. The German translation of Fluss #7 (Frankfurter Verlagsanstalt, 2003) was featured at the 2003 Frankfurt Book Fair. Lembersky's short stories in English translation have appeared
in the Words Without Borders.org magazine of international literature, as well as in Zeek and Calque magazines. Pavel also covers the New York literary, theatre and film scene for the Moscow magazines Foreign Literature and Theater. Also, Pavel Lembersky co-hosted, with Vadim Yarmolinets, a popular
nightly radio talk show '33/45' in 2000-2006.
